YVRA 1958 is the realization of a long-time dream of a dedicated Dutch writer, journalist, fragrance expert and collector. True to the gentleman style, Yvo van Regteren Altena has been interested in perfumes since childhood. He is an expert connoisseur of the current, including niche, perfume market. He has been writing on the subject for 25 years for various magazines.
But after a career as a journalist that saw him travel the world more than 36 times, one dream did not come true: instead of writing about perfumes, he wanted to create his own.
Famous perfumers including Jean-Claude Ellena and François Demachy inspired him to develop his own fragrance. As a result of this encouragement, Yvo created his first fragrance YVRA 1958 l'Essence de l'Essence, which was followed by other perfumes.
